Chris Pratt and Anna Faris seemed like a Hollywood dream couple. The two actors tied the knot in 2007 after meeting on the set of “Take Me Home Tonight,” and had a little boy together, Jack.

But on August 6, the famous couple announced that they were “legally separating” after eight years of marriage, according to earlier reports.

Pratt wrote on Facebook:

Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward…

And it wasn’t long until people started pointing fingers at Pratt’s “Passengers” co-star, Jennifer Lawrence.

In the film, their characters fell in love aboard a spaceship, and some fans were left wondering if that chemistry may have transitioned into real life.

But the rumors didn’t swirl for long.

According to earlier reports, Lawrence shut down the rumors when she revealed in Vogue that she has actually been in a long-term relationship with her “Mother!” director, 48-year-old Darren Aronofsky.

She told Vogue that they started dating shortly after the film wrapped:

“I’ve been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I’m never confused with him.”

So all eyes were back on Pratt on Sunday when he stepped out for his first public appearance since announcing his surprise split from Faris.

According to People, Pratt attended the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles, where he won a coveted “surfboard” for choice action movie actor and choice sci-fi movie actor.

But when Pratt got up on stage, not wearing his wedding ring, fans couldn’t help but notice that he was visibly “sad”:

Pratt made some jokes about his life in Hollywood, before making an emotional statement about the role of religion in his life. The actor said:

“I would not be here with the ease and grace I have in my heart without my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

It’s unclear when Pratt and Faris plan to make their divorce official, but for now, it seems that he is still working to emotionally recover from the split.
