Actor Chris Pratt and other celebrities are sending a back-to-school message to students.

In an Instagram post urging students to be kind to others, Pratt, as well as Joe Rogan, Matt Roloff, and more shared the text with their younger fan base.

The screenshot reads:

Please read—Special request to all you kids returning to school in the next few days: If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn’t have many friends or because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most “in” clothes — PLEASE step up. Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never know what that person might be facing outside of school. Your kindness might just make a BIG difference in someone’s life! Repost if you agree.

And thousands of people praised all of those sharing the image for trying to use their social media platforms to spread a message of kindness and for doing what they can to end bullying in schools.

Many of the commenters also took the time to encourage young kids who see the post to actually listen to the words and act accordingly:

A little kindness goes a long way.

Awesome brother… that is sooo right!

We need more people like this.

And others thanked Pratt and more for encouraging kindness, and sharing their own experiences with bullying:

I always do this because this used to be me and I hated that no one would say hi or even acknowledge me so I try my absolute best to make them feel welcome and happy.

I’ve been trying, because I know how that feels, because I was once that kid.

Thanks chris for [doing] this. the people on my school are mean, they bully me. sometimes I just want some kindness because all the comments about me are mean. in my country the calendar is different, so my second semester stated about one month ago and they will finish about November 29th. the vacations are the best period because I don’t see everyone who bully me.

Are you ready to be kind today?
