Home improvement moguls Chip and Joanna Gaines may be through with their popular HGTV series “Fixer Upper” for now, but they’re not done with television.
As Dearly previously reported, the reality stars welcomed their youngest son, Crew, just four months ago. But now, they’re ready to get back to work.
The couple stopped by “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Saturday, where they revealed some big upcoming plans for their return to the spotlight.
On the late night show, Chip told host Jimmy Fallon that they plan to return to the small screen soon. He said:
“We signed a non-disclosure and it said quote unquote you can tell your mother but that’s it. So mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement, we are coming back to television.”
The father of five said that he was excited to let fans back his family’s life:
“You are going to get to see the kids grow up, you are going to see us, well maybe a six-month delay like the rest of the world, but we are excited to be back.”
A spokesperson for their company, Magnolia, later confirmed to People that the couple won’t return to “Fixer Upper,” but will start a new network with the help of Discovery Inc.
“We’re excited to share that we are currently in the early stages of talking with Discovery about a lifestyle-focused media network for Magnolia. The details surrounding this opportunity remain a work in progress, but together, our hope is to build a different kind of platform for unique, inspiring and family-friendly content.”
Chip said that they’ll get to stay close to home for the new venture. Most of it will be filmed in Waco, Texas:
“I think we’re really going to carve it out in a way that really makes sense to us and our families.”
There’s no word yet when the couple will make their official return.
