Chip and Joanna Gaines Announce New Plan to Return to TV — But Not for ‘Fixer Upper’

Tonight Show/Youtube

Home improvement moguls Chip and Joanna Gaines may be through with their popular HGTV series “Fixer Upper” for now, but they’re not done with television.

As Dearly previously reported, the reality stars welcomed their youngest son, Crew, just four months ago. But now, they’re ready to get back to work.

The couple stopped by “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Saturday, where they revealed some big upcoming plans for their return to the spotlight.

On the late night show, Chip told host Jimmy Fallon that they plan to return to the small screen soon. He said:

“We signed a non-disclosure and it said quote unquote you can tell your mother but that’s it. So mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement, we are coming back to television.”

The father of five said that he was excited to let fans back his family’s life:

“You are going to get to see the kids grow up, you are going to see us, well maybe a six-month delay like the rest of the world, but we are excited to be back.”

A spokesperson for their company, Magnolia, later confirmed to People that the couple won’t return to “Fixer Upper,” but will start a new network with the help of Discovery Inc.

“We’re excited to share that we are currently in the early stages of talking with Discovery about a lifestyle-focused media network for Magnolia. The details surrounding this opportunity remain a work in progress, but together, our hope is to build a different kind of platform for unique, inspiring and family-friendly content.”

Chip said that they’ll get to stay close to home for the new venture. Most of it will be filmed in Waco, Texas:

“I think we’re really going to carve it out in a way that really makes sense to us and our families.”

There’s no word yet when the couple will make their official return.

  1. I’m glad they are going to do something family friendly. But why announce it on the Jimmy Fallon show? It sort of tacit approvall of Fallon’s platform…he hates everything that is not endorsed by the liberal lefties.

  2. I can’t wait to see them back. Love to see them back in action. Chip always makes it interesting and Joanna always reins him in. I’m sure whatever they do will be a must watch tv.

  3. I loved their show & the family, I am hoping they come back on a channel that I have. I wish the Gaines Family extreme luck.

  4. Hope your new network is carried by DirecTV……… Don’t want miss out on this wonderful event❣️❣️❣️❣️

  5. I think the Brothers and the Gaines should get off tv and stay off. These shows were good at the inception but enough is enough. Their time has run out. And while they are at it , those two idiots in California need to go also.

  6. So excited. We need family friendly!
Be fun to watch the kiddos grow up and learn. Hey Chip and Joanna my daughter, Brooklyn graduates in June and will be looking for a job??
