New allegations have surfaced against “Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle Evans. Reports indicate that Child Protective Services investigated Evans after her newborn daughter tested positive for drugs at birth.
Both Radar Online and The Ashley’s Reality Roundup confirm that authorities looked into Evans following the birth of her daughter, Ensley. The news first surfaced, Ashley’s Reality Roundup says, after the grandmother of Evans’s son, Kaiser, filed for emergency custody.
It was Kaiser’s paternal grandmother, Doris, mom of Nathan Griffith, who went on record to corroborate the claims about Ensley. In court documents attained by Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Doris writes:
Upon the birth of Ensley, the newborn tested positive for marijuana. DSS became involved due to Ensley testing positive for marijuana and opened an investigation. Upon information and belief, both Plaintiff and David had positive drug screens for marijuana.
Insiders tell the gossip blog that investigations began at the hospital where Ensley was born, after the newborn tested positive for THC, a chemical compound found in cannabis. Child Protective Services then launched a full investigation into Evans, though they did not take her child away.
Evans responded to the emergency custody filing, telling E! News:
“Our lawyers are talking today. Doris made accusations but I can tell you that Barbara has a lot to do with them… Doris threw her own son under the bus by admitting that he has pending felonies and possibly on drugs. Her emergency filing was against me and Nathan Both.”
Ultimately, emergency custody was not granted. Of this, Evans said:
“I can tell you that they are allegations, driven by my mom, and she didn’t get her emergency custody. That speaks for itself.”
According to the source, the reality star worked to cover up this scandal and keep it off the show:
“Jenelle worked really, really hard to keep this off the show. But everyone knew: the cast and a lot of the crew all knew, and it was a hot piece of gossip for a while. But the producers kept it off the show because they knew Jenelle would go crazy.”
After months of check-ins, CPS reportedly ended their investigation in May — and according to insiders, Evans “weaseled” her way out of charges.
How exactly? Well, insiders say that Evans found a marijuana-based loophole in the system. The source explains:
“Jenelle flew to Los Angeles to obtain a medical marijuana card. She went to this shady doctor on Sunset Blvd. who has been in trouble in the past. I think he’s actually a plastic surgeon. It was a walk-in clinic type place. She has a lot of friends in LA that can help her with this sort of thing.”
CPS ended the investigation on the grounds that Evans had the right to medicinal weed. Cast members tell Ashley’s Reality Roundup that they’re frustrated that Evans continues to get the “clean” edit on “Teen Mom 2.”
A cast member said:
“She keeps trying to spin this ‘happy family’ picture and it’s just not the case. She has not changed.”
Another added that Evans and her partner “do not deserve the clean edit they have been receiving.”
We’ll see if any of that changes.
