David Cassidy, the 70s teen heartthrob known best for starring in “The Partridge Family,” passed away on November 21, his publicist confirmed.

He was just 67 years old.

On Saturday, Cassidy was admitted into the ICU of a Fort Lauderdale, Florida hospital. He was said to be in organ failure prior to his death on Tuesday. As Dearly reported earlier this week, Cassidy announced in February that he was suffering from dementia. He has also spoken about his past struggles with alcohol abuse.

His publicist, Jo-Ann Geffen, released this statement following his passing:

“David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

Cassidy’s nephew followed suit by posting this to Twitter:

Cassidy is survived by his daughter, Katie Cassidy, and his son, Beau Cassidy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cassidy family during this difficult time.
