The 2019 CMT Music Awards got off to an exciting start on Wednesday as Carrie Underwood took home the very first award of the night.
The country songstress beat out fellow powerhouse artists including Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves to snag the award for Female Video of the Year for her song “Love Wins.”
However, Underwood was quick to shift the focus to her date for the night, husband Mike Fisher, when she got up to accept the award.
The singer thanked those who helped her work on the music video before announcing that it was her husband’s birthday. She told the crowd:
“It is my husband’s birthday today. Look what they got you! Thank you so much, God bless you guys! Thank you CMT!”
Fisher appeared to be beaming at his wife from the audience as she gave him a special shout out.
Underwood and Fisher just welcomed their second child, son Jacob Bryan Fisher, in January.
And many fans on social media couldn’t help but notice the songstress looking fit and healthy post-baby at the CMTs.
