On Wednesday night, Carrie Underwood surprised fans during the CMA Awards when she revealed that she’s expecting a baby boy.
The 35-year-old announced her second pregnancy with husband Mike Fisher in August but kept fans guessing about the gender until this week.
As Dearly previously reported, Underwood shared the news with the help of her CMAs co-host, Brad Paisley.
During the award show, he asked the expectant mom if she was anticipating a “Waylon or Willie?” She responded:
“Oh my gosh! Willie, it’s a Willie.”
Now, the songstress is opening up about expecting a second baby boy, who will be a little brother to her eldest child, 3-year-old Isaiah Michael.
An emotional Underwood told Taste of Country:
“We were just so excited. It took us a while to get here, and we were just feeling so blessed.”
Before this pregnancy, the mom miscarried three times over two years, Dearly reported. She couldn’t be more happy to be having a sibling for her son:
“And then to find out Isaiah is going to have a baby brother, it was just great news.”

The “Cry Pretty” singer, who took home the award for Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMAs, also said that she hopes her success will someday inspire her children:
“I’m honored to get to hold some pretty incredible titles, and mom is definitely one of them. I’m excited that they get to see their mom do that and see me on stage. Hopefully I can be an inspiration to my children and to other working moms out there, because we got this.”
Underwood has yet to reveal the due date for her bundle of joy. She welcomed her first son in 2015.
