While remembering those who worked in country music and passed away this year, Carrie Underwood took center stage to sing a classic hymn called “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling.”
The room quickly fell silent as Carrie’s voice filled the room and the pictures of those gone, but not forgotten, flashed across the screens behind her:

Then, as the song started coming to an end, more familiar faces started flooding the screen. They were the faces of the victims who were killed during the Las Vegas shooting on October 1.
Underwood choked up and bowed her head as the names continued to scroll by.
