Singer Bruno Mars ended his 24k Magic Tour on a high note by donating enough money to cover 24,000 Thanksgiving dinners in Hawaii.

According to ABC News, the Hawaii-born singer spread his holiday cheer by contributing to the Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division of The Salvation Army for its 48th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner event.

The organization reports that it feeds an estimated 2,000 attendees a full and free Thanksgiving dinner each year. The event is put on with the help of over 900 volunteers, and the food is provided by local hotels and restaurants.

The Salvation Army acknowledged Mars’ donation with a post on Facebook.

Big Mahalo to Bruno Mars who is providing 24K #Thanksgiving Holiday meals to Hawaii residents in need through our holiday feeding programs!

The gift will allow us to expand our feeding programs to provide an additional 24,000 meals. It is because of such giving that struggling families will have a warm and cheerful holiday together this year.

The Grammy award-winning musician not only gave back to his birthplace, but he also broke records there as well. Mars’ became the first artist to sell out three back-to-back shows at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

As KLTV reports, the Salvation Army Major Jeff Martin made the following statement:

“We are humbled and honored by this generous donation from Hawaii’s own Bruno Mars… Bruno is a shining example of how people in Hawaii step forward and take care of one another and we are grateful to him for his aloha and kokua (help).”

Mars’ actions seem to have also touched his fans.

One fan tweeted:

I like this guy more and more each day… seriously, what an awesome thing to do!!

Mars’ has not commented on his endowment, but shared a post on Twitter thanking Hawaii for their support.

He tweeted, “I don’t know what happens next… but I can’t wait to find out. Thank you Hawaii for letting us end The #24kmagicworldtour in style!”
