Bristol Palin made headlines in 2008 at the age of 17 when it was revealed she was expecting her first child with model Levi Johnston.

The news came amid mom Sarah Palin’s vice presidential run alongside candidate John McCain and catapulted the teen into the spotlight.

She gave birth to her first son Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston later that year.

Bristol went on to star on several reality shows, including “Dancing with the Stars” in 2010 and “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” in 2012.

Now, the 27-year-old mother is reportedly set the join the cast of MTV’s popular series “Teen Mom OG,” according to TMZ.

Bristol, who has since welcomed two more children with husband Dakota Meyer, is reportedly filling a vacant spot on the cast left by former star Farrah Abraham’s firing.

As Dearly previously reported, Abraham claimed that she was fired from the show last year after she started starring in pornographic films.

Bristol hasn’t confirmed that she’s joining the cast, which currently features Catelynn Baltierra, Amber Portwood, and Maci Bookout.

But “Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry is already reacting to the news. The reality star said she didn’t expect the politician’s daughter to join the popular series.

She tweeted:

Bristol palin & cheyenne & Cory for teen mom og? Our producers sure know what to do ?

I also am not hating whatsoever. I’m just surprised

Bristol is current in the midst of divorcing her husband, according to earlier reports. So it’s unclear if Meyer will also be featured on the reality series.

The new season is slated to begin in this fall.
