Nearly a year after former sixth-grade teacher Brittany Zamora was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing one of her 13-year-old students, body cam footage of her March 2018 arrest is being made public.
According to 12 News, much of the footage is of Zamora asking about her rights during the arrest.
She’s seen taking off her wedding ring before asking if she’ll get it back. She also asks if she has the right to an attorney and if she’ll have the chance to explain what happened.

As the 28-year-old former teacher was led into the police station, Zamora asked one of the officers if she could put her hair down in order to cover her face so that they slew of media cameras waiting to capture her couldn’t get her face on camera:
Officer: “You’ll be fine, okay?”
Zamora: “Can you put my hair in front of my face?”
Officer: “We have to go in the door by them, okay?”
While in the interrogation room with a detective, who offered her the chance to share her side of the story and access to a lawyer, Zamora voiced her concerns about jail.
Zamora told the detective:
“I’m little. They’re going to tear me apart.”
And the detective’s interview with the parents of the 13-year-old boy reportedly abused by Zamora was also released:
Dad: “His childhood is already gone. He’s 13.”
As 12 News reports, Zamora began “grooming” the 13-year-old in an online chat room before the relationship turned physical.
One of their several meetups even occurred on the campus of the school where Zamora worked and the teen student attended.
The chat room is how the 13-year-old’s parents discovered who their child was talking with online as the mom explained to detectives:
“I saw at the bottom that it had ‘Mrs. Zamora.’ […] My husband just told him, ‘Have you done anything with your teacher? Did you have sex with your teacher?’ He said, ‘Yes.'”

Footage also reveals police officers talking with Zamora’s husband, although officers weren’t able to go into detail regard what Zamora had told them or what they knew at the time.
The former teacher’s husband is also heard calling his wife “the best, best person I’ve ever known.”
As 12 News previously reported, the principal of Las Brisas Academy Tim Dickey was allegedly made aware of “issues” between Zamora and the 13-year-old when three female students wrote letters to Dickey explaining what those issues were.
Dickey told detectives it was a mistake he made talking only one of three students who sent him letters.
Zamora has since pleaded not guilty to the charges against her which include 10 counts of sexual conduct with a minor, two counts of molestation, two counts of furnishing sexually explicit material to a minor and one count public sexual indecency.
