It was Father’s Day in Australia on September 1.
And Steven Irwin’s daughter, Bindi Sue Irwin, took a moment to remind her followers not only of the unwavering love she has for her late father but also how important it is to hug the special people in your life when you can.
Along with an incredibly moving video from back when Bindi was just learning to walk, the 21-year-old wrote:
It’s Father’s Day here in Australia
Reflecting on these wonderful moments. Hug the people in your life who bring light to your heart and always remember that love lasts forever.
Thousands of people then began to share both old and new memories they have of Bindi’s father.
Some of those comments read:
My daughter recently found your dad’s shows online. Her son, who’s four, is riveted to them. Steve continues to inspire new generations to preserve the world’s amazing wildlife.
Awwww this is the sweetest! Your father’s love and light and passion shine so brightly through you!
Your dad was like our long lost uncle lol I’m sure you’ve heard this a million times but he will always have a special place in our hearts whether we knew him or not. Growing up he was apart of our lives daily. Happy fathers day to the GOAT Steve!!!
Oh bindi. These moments are so precious. Thank you for sharing your father with all of us. Happy fathers day steve. Your kids are amazing.
[The] world misses your father very much.
As Dearly previously reported, in July, on her 21st birthday, Bindi and her longtime love Chandler Powell got engaged.
At the time, the soon-to-be bride said she believes Steven and Chandler would have loved each other, adding that she wished her father was here to celebrate with her in person.
However, in honor of Steve, Bindi’s brother Robert will be walking her down the aisle.
