“Under the lights” is a casual term for Bilirubin lights, also known as bili lights or phototherapy, which, according to Summit Medical Group, is a kind of treatment for newborns with jaundice.

According to MedlinePlus, it is common for newborns, especially twins, to have high bilirubin levels.
