Mother of two Amanda Stanton, 28, made her reality television debut on “The Bachelor” in 2016 as the single mom looking for love.
The esthetician didn’t get the final rose from the show’s star, Ben Higgins, but she has amassed a large social media following since her appearance on the hit series.
Stanton has over one million followers on Instagram, where she shares moments from her life and sweet photos of her two young daughters.
But now, the reality star is in hot water for a recent parenting decision.
According to Allure, Stanton posted a poll to her Instagram story asking followers if she should let her 6-year-old daughter highlights.
The majority of her fans voted against it, but the mom went through with the salon visit anyway.
Stanton took her 6-year-old to Habit Salon in Arizona to get “babylights for the baby” and posted the end result on social media.
And many fans weren’t happy.
Many Instagram commenters expressed concern that her daughter was “too young” to color her hair and that it could be damaged.
One user wrote:
So terribly sad. Why on earth would you do that?! You should be teaching your girls how beautiful they are inside and not that looks aren’t everything. Setting a bad example and setting them up for so much insecurity.
Stanton responded to the criticism on her Instagram story. She said that she knew giving her daughter highlights would anger some:
I knew it would trigger the trolls. But I did it anyway…so in a way, I was trolling the trolls.Of course I got some messages saying she’s too young…but I got a lot more saying ‘I’m so glad you let her and didn’t care what anyone negative had to say.’ So moral of the story is: Not everyone is going to agree with everything you do…& that’s okay! We all are entitled to our own decision and opinions and thoughts on parenting and not everyone is going to agree with you and that’s okay.
