I am just so proud of you @stephencurry30 ! Your desire to keep moving the needle and tireless work ethic is inspiring(and sexy). I can’t wait for you all to see “Stephen vs The Game”. It’ll give you a tiny glimpse into his day to day off of the court. Can’t wait for you all to see just why he’s my favorite human in the whole world. You’re truly something special my love.
During the conversation, Ayesha said she received some great advice on being the wife of a “spotlight athlete” from Sonya Curry’s example.
Ayesha said that her mother-in-law is good at managing it all.
“She’s always been able to balance her wants and needs along with her children’s wants and needs and her husband’s wants and needs. And she’s always done it with grace.”
Therefore, the mother of three stated she realized she needed to tend to her own happiness and goals as well.
“That’s kind of why I need to make sure that I have something for myself as well as my marriage. One, you know, it’s going to make me happy and full. I’m going to be a better parent. Two, it’s going to make my husband a better person as well because then he has this strong woman next to him who has her own wants and needs and knows what she wants.”
She elaborated by saying that she, in turn, feels more fulfilled by tending to her own goals.
“I have greater value and passion, and I’m just a happier person that way.”
However, the restauranteur said it hasn’t been easy to do all of this.
Ayesha told Smith that the hardest part has been “trying to figure out how to balance work life, mom life, and being a wife.”
She added :
“Sometimes, I want to give up the work life because I feel like, ‘Am I cheating my children of my quality time with them? Am I cheating my husband out of me solely being there for him all the time?'”
The celebrity chef that it takes a lot of “solitude” and “searching within yourself” to really understand that it’s OK to achieve your goals also. She added that when she wasn’t working on her passions, she thought she was actually “miserable.”
More importantly, Ayesha said when her children grow up and start their own lives, she still wants to have a “sense of self.”
