New details about Amber Portwood’s July 5 arrest reveal that she allegedly ran at her boyfriend with a machete while he was holding their 1-year-old son.
A police affidavit obtained by Radar Online states that it started when Portwood was agitated the evening of July 4 because they couldn’t see fireworks due to heavy traffic.
Glennon dropped the “Teen Mom OG” star off at their home and then left again with their son, James so that she could “cool off.”
When he returned to the home, Portwood allegedly assaulted him with a shoe. The affidavit states:
Mr. Glennon stated when he got inside the home Ms. Portwood grabbed a shoe off the shoe rack and hit him with it. Mr. Glennon stated he was holding [James] and he turned to the side to avoid him getting struck with the shoe.

Her boyfriend left again with their son for about three hours and returned with food and a gift for Portwood.
When he returned, Portwood confronted him and told him to put their son down.
When Glennon refused because James was “crying and upset,” she “threatened to kill herself” and swallowed a handful of pills from a drawer.
Portwood then “regurgitated the pills” and “picked up a machete” before running at Glennon and James.
The affidavit states that her boyfriend “locked himself and [James]” in an office. Portwood chased them and started hitting the door with the machete.
Portwood allegedly kicked at the door until the handle broke off, which is when Glennon called for help.
Officers arrived and called for backup because the reality star was “yelling at the officer.”
She was arrested for hitting Glennon with a shoe while he was holding their son because she denied taking pills and chasing them with a machete.
The 29-year-old was charged with three felonies, domestic battery, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, and domestic battery in the presence of a child.
Glennon filed a petition to get emergency custody of James on Tuesday, but it’s unclear if it has been granted.
