Earlier this week, 25-year-old Alberto Reyes was arrested in connection to the death of his 18-year-old girlfriend, Selena Hidalgo-Calderon. Now an AMBER Alert has been released for her young son.

Hidalgo-Caldron’s body was found on Wednesday, May 23 in a wooden area near Sodus, New York. According to WHAM, the area was near Hidalgo-Caldron’s home on Joy Road.

Reyes was reportedly seen on trail cameras near their home, carrying a shovel. He has since been charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Authorities are still looking for the 18-year-old’s 14-month-old son, Owen.

As WHAM reports, an AMBER Alert was issued for the toddler early Friday morning. He is described as being two feet tall and weighing about 30 pounds.

According to the official AMBER Alert, Owen has short brown hair and brown eyes. It has been reported that the 14-month-old is known to be reliant on asthma medication.

As reporter Ashley Doerzbacher wrote on Twitter, nearly 100 people were a part of a grid search for Hidalgo-Calderon’s son on Friday morning.

Sadly, the search is considered “a recovery” operation at this point in time:

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts told WHAM that Hidalgo-Calderon’s boyfriend admitted to deputies that he removed her body from their home and buried her in the woods.

However, he has not admitted to killing her. Reyes is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Hidalgo-Calderon’s mother, Estela Calderon, said about her daughter and her grandson:

“My daughter and my grandson were my life, she was my first born and I feel like a piece of my heart is gone.”

The last time anyone saw Owen was on May 16. The search for Owen is still ongoing.
