During an episode of “Jeopardy” this week, one of the categories was titled “football” in honor of Super Bowl LII this Sunday, February 4.
Clearly wary of choosing the topic, contestants Ryan, Sara, and Justin left the sports-inspired category for last. Host Alex Trebek and the audience quickly learned why they were so hesitant about choosing the category when Ryan said, “Uh, football, $200.”
Not one of the contestant knew a single answer to any of the five questions.
Trebek said at one point:
“I can tell you guys are big football fans.”
Before the host added that he “will die” if either of the contestants got the $1,000 question right.
After Ryan, Sara, and Justin went 0 for 5, Trebek threw it to commercial by saying that he “has to talk to them.”
Jeopardy’s official Twitter account then poked some more fun at the contestants by pointing out this fun little fact:
“Our contestants answered as many clues in this category as the Browns had wins this season.”
Unfortunately for Cleveland fans, their hometown team also found themselves at the butt of the joke after going 0-16 this season.
