It’s been a big couple of weeks for actress Katie Holmes and her 11-year-old daughter, Suri.
According to earlier reports, the former “Dawson’s Creek” star was photographed stepping out in public with her longtime boyfriend, Jamie Foxx, for the first time ever on Labor Day.
The actress, who split from Tom Cruise in 2012, allegedly waited to confirm her secret romance with Foxx because she signed a five-year agreement to not “publicly date” as part of the divorce settlement.
But now, the happy couple is going strong.

Holmes was also recently spotted wearing some major bling in public that is rumored to be her engagement ring.
Though the pair have yet to confirm any sort of engagement, Holmes’s little girl is allegedly already bonding with Foxx.
According to Hollywood Life, Suri started to grow closer to Foxx after her own father failed to stay present in her life.
A source close to the family said:
“Tom does not make time for Suri and she has learned to deal with not having her father around. As Suri matures into a young girl, she is learning more about who her father is in the world and about his busy lifestyle as a mega-star actor. But that does not make things any easier for the child.”
The source also said Holmes has become frustrated by Cruise’s “absence” in her daughter’s life. But luckily, Foxx has been there to fill the void.James Devaney/Getty Images
The source told Hollywood Life:
“Now that Jamie is more in the picture, Suri likes having a strong male role model in her life and Katie does too, because Tom has been simply absent for much of Suri’s formative years.”
Many speculate his absence from his daughter’s life may have to do with his controversial connection to the Church of Scientology, though nothing has been confirmed.
Regardless of his reasoning, it looks like Suri may have a new father figure to take his place.
