“Dance Moms” star Abby Lee Miller has seemingly remained positive about her health struggles, as she adjusts to her new life using a wheelchair.
However, it appears as if the dance instructor had difficulties with her chair while flying American, based on a recent Instagram post.
Miller addressed the serious challenges she recently faced while traveling at Pittsburgh International Airport. According to the reality star’s Instagram post, the 53-year-old fell out of her wheelchair and slammed American Airlines after the unfortunate incident.

Help! “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” isn’t that the truth? Let’s just say my transfer from the Isle Chair to my own chair didn’t go so well! The move should’ve happened on the bridge like usual and not in front of a hundred ppl waiting to board, I shouldn’t have had to ask for someone to call the paramedics and maybe the @americanair Gate Mgr should’ve at the very least asked if I was ok? Thank you to all the Pgh international Airport Escorts that were so very kind & the hot firemen who swiftly got me on my feet, into my chair & on my way!!! . . . . . . @aldcstudiopgh #dancemoms #aldc #season8 #abbyleemiller #abbylee
Miller captioned a photo of herself on the ground next to her chair:

The “Dance Moms” coach went on to explain:

Despite her unpleasant experience, Miller thanked the airport’s escorts and the “hot firemen” who helped her back into her wheelchair after the accident. She also spoke about her minor injuries in the comments section:
I’m stiff and my body aches, right hip & knee [are] banged up [and her] right shoulder is sore.
As previously reported by Dearly, Miller was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, and has undergone emergency surgeries on her spine.
She’s still rehabbing in order to regain her ability walk. Miller revealed on Instagram that it’s been a tough road to recovery but said, “maybe with a miracle someday I’ll walk.”
American Airlines acknowledged Miller’s complaint and apologized for the incident. In a statement to People, the company wrote:
We are concerned by the issues raised by Ms. Miller regarding her recent experience at Pittsburgh International Airport and are working with our contracted special assistance vendor to review the incident. We have been in touch with Ms. Miller to apologize and are providing her a full refund as a result of her experience.
However, her tough travels continued.
On Tuesday, Miller accused United Airlines of accidentally breaking her wheelchair, though she later praised an airline employee for getting it fixed.
