TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé” takes on the complications of long-distance relationships by allowing international couples a chance at love.
The high-stakes show allows foreign lovers the opportunity to try their hand at marriage in the U.S. with a temporary visa.
But here’s the catch. The couple has 90 days to decide whether their love is authentic or merely puppy love. Once the 90 days are up, the fiancé visa expires, and the couple must decide to marry … or break up, forcing the visiting partner to return to their home country.
Loren and Alexei Brovarnik participated in the show after they met on a Birthright trip to Israel. Loren staffed the trip, while Alexei was the medic. After hitting it off on the 10-day adventure abroad, the couple decided to apply for a K-1 fiancé visa.
Alexei bravely left all of his friends and family to move in with Loren into her parents’ three-bedroom condo in Florida. The pair decided it was true love and got married.

We love each other so much, that 1 year ago today, we decided to get married…again! ? Happy 1 year Israel Wedding Anniversary to the love of my life. Loren explained to Fox News that their motives for debuting their love on “90 Day Fiancé” were pure … unlike some of her co-stars. She said:
“We decided to go on ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’ because we wanted people to see that there are people out there who go through the green card process and the K-1 visa process for the right reasons.”
Loren believes others on the show abuse the visa, hinting in particular at the show’s most newsworthy couple, Danielle and Mohamed, who battle religious and cultural differences — as well as a 15-year age gap.
“They get attention because it’s negative. I mean, people are drawn to negativity, we need something to talk about and they’re just … it’s a joke. It’s like a circus act, I can’t.”
When Alexei tried to defend the couple, saying that “everyone has their own reasons,” Loren shut him down, stubbornly declaring that “we know their reasons.”
Despite Loren shaming her co-stars for hogging the spotlight, she herself has garnered a lot of attention lately.
Last year, Loren revealed her “biggest secret” on national television. She said it was something “very, very few of [her] friends know,” even adding that many family members had no idea, either. And when Alexei shared the secret with his mother without Loren’s permission, she was understandably very upset.
“I tried to hide it as much as I could from the cameras. People noticed, and I think that made it worse.”
Therefore, Loren decided to come out and announce her lifelong battle with Tourette’s syndrome.
Tourette’s syndrome is a common neurodevelopmental disorder that arises in early childhood. The disorder causes involuntary and repetitive muscle movements and is often accompanied by behavioral difficulties. While there is no cure, many people live comfortably with accessible treatment options.
However, the young star quickly realized that “people are mean. People are very very mean. They’re so quick to judge.”Screenshot/TLC
But going public with her disorder has forced Loren to fully accept herself for who she truly is. She told Fox News:
“I’m definitely glad that I was kind of forced to open up about having Tourette’s syndrome. I didn’t want to, but it helped me accept who I am and it’s gotten awareness out there which is great.”
“If I could help one person then I did the right thing. People who have Tourette’s syndrome, they don’t openly talk about it because it’s embarrassing and it’s painful and it’s more than just tics and movements and sounds. It effects you mentally.”
Loren has her husband to thank for all of his support.
The 27-year-old is astounded at all the positive reactions she’s received since her announcement.

Loren knows she’s not alone in her battle and wants to make sure other’s don’t get the wrong idea about the disorder. She said:
“Tourette’s is not just somebody screaming out saying something derogatory.”
Since her announcement, Loren has become a public advocate for Tourette’s syndrome awareness. Earlier this year, she took the stage as a featured speaker at an event for the Tourette Association of America.
