On June 11, Olympic Alpine ski racer Bode Miller revealed that his youngest daughter, Emeline Grier, had passed away.

As Dearly previously reported, 19-month-old Emmy had unintentionally drowned in a neighbor's pool. According to ESPN, paramedics were called to the home just before 6:30 p.m. on June 9.

She was rushed to the hospital where she passed away on June 10. Orange Country Sheriff's Captain Steve Concialdi told E! News:

“This is extremely tragic for everybody—for the family, for the neighbors and the community, as well as the first responders including sheriff's deputies and fire paramedics. These calls are one of the worst calls that firefighter paramedics respond to....This is a public safety message. Children are so quickly drawn to water. They think it's playtime and they don't see the danger. These types of calls happen so quickly.”

Now Bode and his wife, Morgan, are asking for additional help as they mourn the unexpected passing of their “princess”:

The 40-year-old father of four took to Instagram to thank everyone for their support. He then directed his followers to a GoFundMe account that has been set up to help with medical bills and Emmy's memorial service. He also directed followers to a Meal Train account. He wrote:

Thank you for your compassion and warm meals as this family grieves in a way that no parents should ever have to. As their community, we can make sure they know they are loved and taken care of. We have changed our request to donations that the family can use on local restaurants and deliveries to provide extra privacy. In deepest gratitude!

The accounts were set up by Lindsey Meehleis on behalf of the Miller family.

Many of Bode's former teammates have offered their condolences to the family, including Mikaela Shiffrin, Lindsey Vonn, and Julia Mancuso:

In addition to Emmy, Bode and Morgan have a son, Nash. Morgan is expected to give birth to their third child together in October.
