Days after hosting the CMA awards in November, Carrie Underwood took a nasty fall that landed her in the hospital with a broken wrist and multiple injuries to her face.
In a letter to her fan club, Underwood let fans know that she received 40 to 50 stitches for her facial injuries. She was quick to point out that because of the fall, she is “not quite looking the same.”
Following the accident, Underwood stayed out of the spotlight and kept her face mostly hidden on social media, leaving fans to speculate about the extent of her injuries.
But now, she's back.
Underwood recently released “Cry Pretty,” the second single off her upcoming album, and is set to perform the song at the ACM Awards this evening.
And she's finally showing her face on social media:
Along with the selfie posted to Instagram yesterday, she wrote:
Had a great rehearsal for the @acmawards ! Can’t wait until tomorrow night! #CryPretty #ACMAwards
While some commenters accused her of “milking” her injuries for publicity reasons, many fans came to her defense, praising her for being beautiful “inside and out.”
What do you think?
