Donald Trump Jr.'s wife, Vanessa Trump, has been taken to the hospital after she opened a letter that, according to ABC News, contained a white powdery substance.
First responders were called to Donald Jr. and Vanessa's Manhattan apartment around 10:00 a.m. on February 12.
According to ABC News, Vanessa and two other unnamed people were “decontaminated by firefighters” at the scene, before they were taken to the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center to be checked out as a precaution.
CNN reports that Vanessa didn't have an immediate reaction to the substance but the network said that the New York Fire Department reported three people being transported to the hospital.
New York Police Department spokesman J. Peter Donald said in a statement:
“The substance was deemed to be non-hazardous and is being transported to a lab in New York City for further analysis.”
The letter was allegedly delivered the same day it was opened. It's been reported that the Secret Service is involved in the investigation.
