Former “Glee” actor Mark Salling has died at the age of 35 after allegedly committing suicide. His death comes as he was set to face sentencing in March for child pornography charges, the Hollywood Reporter reports.
According to TMZ, the actor's body was found near a river in Sunland, the Los Angeles neighborhood where he lived. He allegedly killed himself by hanging, though that hasn't been publicly confirmed by the L.A. coroner.
LAPD told People that they “responded to a death investigation at the 11900 block of Big Tujunga Cyn Road Tuesday morning at 8:50 a.m.”
The actor, best known for playing Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the hit musical TV show “Glee,” was arrested in 2015 for possession of child pornography, according to earlier reports.
Police found at least “25,000 still images of child pornography, 600 videos depicting child pornography, and 29,000 images of child erotica.” Some of the children were as young as 3 years old.
Salling pleaded guilty to the charges in October and was expected to receive four to seven years behind bars for his crimes at a March sentencing hearing, according to TMZ.
Salling's cause of death has not yet been confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office because his next of kin has not been notified, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
